In August / September, we spent three weeks in Indonesia with a small team from Germany. This time, our main destinations were Jakarta and Toraja. We ministered in several different churches in different cities, towns and regions, served the people of slums and visited them at the garbage dump where they live, held children’s events, delivered the gospel message in many different places and meetings, fed the poor and needy, ministered in a couple of Bible schools, and brought hope to the patients at a rehab center – just to mention a few things.

So many lives were touched, hundreds of people were changed, healed, delivered and saved for eternity. What a privilege and joy to be part of something greater that has eternal value!

I’d like to share just a couple of high lights from this wonderful time:
At one of the biggest evangelistic meetings, a young girl approached me and asked me if I still recognize her. I did. She was at my meeting last year and gave her life to Jesus at that time. Now she had come again, and brought along five friends who all either recommitted their lives to Jesus or made a first time decision that night. Two of them also got delivered from evil spirits.

Another wonderful thing happened at another evangelistic event. Earlier that day, we had visited a rehab center and ministered to the patients there. After the visit, I heard that about half of the patients were Moslem. That same evening, we still had an evangelistic meeting in the area, and to my great surprise, all the people from the center were there, including the Moslems, and at the end all the Moslems came forward to give their lives to Jesus.

IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER I MINISTERED IN THREE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. Out of security reasons, I will not mention their names.  In the first country, which was just a layover on my way somewhere else, I taught at a Bible school and preached at a church of a good friend. At that church, a Hindu woman, who was at a Christian church service for the second time in her life, came forward for prayer and experienced the power of God go through her like electricity. She fell down as God touched her and also received a healing miracle that morning. All the pain she had in her kidneys, disappeared. She was very moved, excited and impressed by the presence of the living God and is now hungry to know more.

Another amazing healing miracle took place in my main destination country. A girl, who was traveling in the same car with me told that she has a severe hearing problem. I shortly told her about Jesus and asked if I can pray for and told her. She said yes, and Jesus showed up! She was so excited and immediately tested her hearing which suddenly was normal. She could do things she couldn’t do before. This girl had never heard the name of Jesus before and that morning had a real encounter with Him for the first time.

The time in my main destination was very strategic and involved lots of encounters with different individuals. Part of the goal was connecting and building relationships for the future. During the time there, I got to know many pastors and leaders of the nation. I attended one underground meeting and shared a word in that fellowship. One of my highlights was to meet a pastor, whose family heard the good news through a Finnish missionary in the late 1940’s, as they lived outside their own country of origin, next to the border of this particular nation. This pastor was about 4 years old at that time when his parents came to the Lord. Today, he’s in his late 70’s and is pastoring a house church in the capital. It was so touching to meet him and hear his story. As a sign of deep gratitude, love and respect, he still keeps inside his Bible an old post card, which has a picture of the missionary on it, who brought his family to Jesus long ago. Once again I was reminded how important it is to keep sowing seeds into people’s lives. We never know how much fruit that one little seed may reproduce!

The main goal of my time in this particular nation was to share the gospel in places where humanly speaking there is no access. I cannot share more in this open platform but what I can tell is that God has opened an incredible door of opportunity to reach the totally unreached with the message of salvation. Please pray with us that this door remains open!

At the end of my journey, I travelled to one more country and visited some old friends who do underground work there. For that reason, more cannot be said. These friends however, are truly living up to their call, using their talents and making a difference in many lives. I ministered to the team, spending hours counseling and encouraging them. At the airport, as our ways departed again, they told me how deeply happy and grateful they were for my visit, and how much it built up their faith and rekindled their passion and vision.

We thank God for all these amazing opportunities that we’ve had in so many places around the world to share the good news and impact lives for eternity! All glory to Him alone! Stay in touch with us and follow what God is doing in the nations!
